Connect WooCommerce to MailerPress to collect newsletter sign-ups at checkout, let customers manage their subscriptions from My Account, measure the revenue of your campaigns and send emails based on what customers buy.
The WooCommerce integration requires MailerPress Pro and an active WooCommerce plugin. FunnelKit checkout support requires MailerPress Pro 2.1.2 or later.
Open the WooCommerce settings
- Go to MailerPress > Integrations.
- Open the Third-party extensions tab. Click E-commerce to show only the store integrations.
- On the WooCommerce card, click Configure.
The settings have three tabs: Checkout, My Account and Email Templates. The Save button saves all tabs at once.
Add a newsletter checkbox to the checkout
In the Checkout tab:
- Check Enable checkout opt-in inside checkout. “Opt-in” means the customer chooses to subscribe by ticking the box.
- In Subscribe text, enter the label of the checkbox. The default text is “I would like to receive exclusive emails with discounts and product information.”
- In Position, choose After Contact or After Address.
- In Assign Lists and Assign Tags, choose the lists and tags to give to customers who opt in (tags are labels used to group contacts).
- Click Save.

Where the checkbox appears depends on your checkout type:
- Block checkout: in the contact information section (After Contact) or in the address section (After Address).
- Classic checkout (shortcode): After Contact places it right below the billing email field. After Address places it after the order notes.
The checkbox is unchecked by default and never required.

What happens after the order
When the order confirmation page is displayed and the box was ticked, MailerPress creates the contact, or updates it if it already exists:
- For a customer with an account, MailerPress uses the email address of their WordPress account. For a guest order, it uses the billing email, so guests who opt in are subscribed too.
- The contact gets the billing first name and last name, and the lists and tags you selected. If you don’t select any list, MailerPress uses your default list.
- If sign-up confirmation (double opt-in) is enabled, a new contact stays Pending until they click the link in the confirmation email.
FunnelKit checkout pages
Since MailerPress Pro 2.1.2, the checkbox also works on checkout pages built with the FunnelKit plugin, in one of two ways:
- Automatic position: with After Contact, the checkbox appears below the FunnelKit email field. With After Address, it appears just before the payment section.
- Manual position: in the FunnelKit checkout form editor, add the MailerPress newsletter field from the advanced fields and place it where you want. When this field is in the form, the checkbox appears there instead of the automatic position.
Copy checkout data to contact fields
- Under Custom Field Mapping, click Add Mapping.
- Choose a WooCommerce Field. Each field shows its group, such as billing or shipping.
- Choose the MailerPress Custom Field that stores it, then click Save. Use Remove to delete a mapping.
Values are copied only for customers who tick the checkbox, and empty values are skipped. To create custom fields, see Manage Your Contact Fields.
Add a newsletter tab to My Account
In the My Account tab, turn on Enable My Account tab. A new tab appears in the WooCommerce My Account area, where logged-in customers can subscribe to or unsubscribe from your lists.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Endpoint Slug | Last part of the tab’s web address. The default newsletters creates /my-account/newsletters/. |
| Menu Title | Name of the tab in the My Account menu. Default: Newsletters. |
| Menu Position | Position of the tab in the menu. Default: 4 (after Addresses). |
| Page Title | Title of the page. Default: Newsletters. |
| Page Heading | Optional heading shown above the subscription form. |
| Show Name Fields | Shows first name and last name fields in the form. |
| Filter Lists | Lists the customer can manage. Leave empty to show all lists. |
| Button Text | Text of the save button. |
| Success Message | Message shown after the preferences are saved. |
| Error Message | Message shown if saving fails. |
After you enable the tab or change its slug, go to Settings > Permalinks in WordPress and click Save Changes to refresh your site’s web addresses. Otherwise, the new tab may show a “page not found” error.
Customize WooCommerce emails
The Email Templates tab replaces the automatic emails WooCommerce sends (order confirmations, invoices, account emails and, with WooCommerce Subscriptions, subscription emails) with designs built in the MailerPress editor. See Customize WordPress and WooCommerce emails with MailerPress Pro.
Track the revenue of your campaigns
MailerPress Pro links WooCommerce orders to the campaign that brought the customer to your store. No setting is needed:
- A contact clicks a link to a WooCommerce product page in one of your campaigns.
- MailerPress remembers the campaign for the rest of the visitor’s shopping session. An order placed in that session is linked to the campaign.
- When the order status becomes Completed, its total is added to the campaign’s revenue, provided the billing email matches a MailerPress contact.
- If you refund the order later, the refunded amount is deducted.
The total appears as Revenue in the campaign statistics, in your campaigns list.
Use store data in your emails and audience
- Product Showcase block: when WooCommerce is active, the email editor offers a Product Showcase block that presents a product with its image, name, price, description and buy button.
- Segments (groups of contacts selected by rules): with MailerPress Pro, segments can use WooCommerce Purchase History (has purchased, has not purchased, has purchased a product, purchased a product at least a given time ago) and Total Purchases. See Manage Your Segments.
- Conditional display: show or hide email blocks based on purchase history, order count or total spent. See Conditional Display: Personalize Email Blocks in MailerPress.
Automate emails from store events
When WooCommerce is active, the automation editor adds these triggers (events that start an automation): Order Status Changed, Product Purchased, Customer First Order, Abandoned Cart and Customer Inactive (Daily). With WooCommerce Subscriptions, you also get Subscription Status Changed, Subscription Started, Subscription Renewed, Subscription Payment Failed, Subscription Expired, Subscription Trial Started and Subscription Trial Ended. Ready-made WooCommerce workflows are available in Automations > Pre-made workflows.
