If you build your pages with Divi, you can send sign-ups from the Divi Email Optin module straight to a MailerPress list. MailerPress appears as a service provider in the module, next to the email marketing services Divi supports natively.
This integration requires MailerPress Pro 2.0.0 or later, and the Divi theme or the Divi Builder plugin.
Before you start
- Create at least one list in MailerPress > Audience. The form returns an error if no list is selected.
- To collect more than an email and a name, first create the matching custom fields in MailerPress. See Manage Your Contact Fields.
Connect the Email Optin module to MailerPress
- Edit a page with Divi and add an Email Optin module, or open an existing one.
- In the Content tab, open the Email Account group.
- In Service Provider, select MailerPress.
- Click Add, enter any Account Name (for example, “MailerPress”) and submit. No API key is needed, because MailerPress runs on the same site.
- Select the MailerPress list that new subscribers join. If you just created the list, click Fetch Lists to reload.
- Save the page.
Collect names and custom fields
The module’s name fields fill the contact’s first and last name. With a single name field, the full name is saved as the first name.
To fill MailerPress custom fields:
- In the module settings, turn on Use Custom Fields.
- Add a custom field to the module and link it to one of your MailerPress custom fields (all except email, first name and last name are listed).
- If a field you just created in MailerPress is missing, go back to Email Account and click Fetch Lists. It reloads both lists and custom fields.
What happens when a visitor signs up
- The contact is created or updated in MailerPress and added to the selected list.
- The contact gets the Pending status and receives the sign-up confirmation email. They become subscribed after clicking the confirmation link (this is called double opt-in). You can edit this email in MailerPress > Settings > Sign-up Confirmation (see Enable sign-up confirmation).
- The contact’s opt-in source is
divi, so you can spot these sign-ups in MailerPress > Audience > Contacts. - The message or redirect shown after sign-up is set in the module’s Success Action group, as for any other Divi provider.
Troubleshooting
- MailerPress is not in the Service Provider list: check that MailerPress and MailerPress Pro are both active, then reload the Divi editor.
- “No lists found. Please create a list in MailerPress first.”: create a list in MailerPress, then click Fetch Lists.
- “MailerPress plugin is either not installed or not activated.”: activate the free MailerPress plugin, which MailerPress Pro needs.
