Each form fills the right list
Point each form to its own list and tag, and contacts show Contact form 7 as their opt-in source.
- Mail-tags: enter those of the email and name fields, such as [your-email] and [your-name].
- List and tag: a Contact List, plus an optional Contact Tag.
- Example: a “Download the guide” form sent to a “Leads” list with a “guide” tag.
- Welcome email: the free Welcome New Subscribers workflow can send one.
- No consent condition: every submission with an email is sent, so use forms where visitors expect your emails.
Confirmed subscribers, without bots
Double opt-in confirms each new address, and a hidden honeypot field keeps bot submissions out of your lists.
- Enable Double Opt-in: new contacts stay Pending until they click the confirmation link.
- Left unticked: MailerPress follows your Sign-up Confirmation setting.
- Enable Honeypot Protection: on by default in the Spam Protection settings, it adds a hidden field.
- Bots blocked: they fill in the hidden field, and their submissions never reach your lists.
Save company, phone and other details
With MailerPress Pro, extra form fields are saved on the contact, ready for segments or personalized emails.
- Custom field mappings: each MailerPress custom field gets a box for a form tag.
- Example: enter [your-company] next to your company custom field.
- Without MailerPress Pro: email, name, list, tag and double opt-in work as usual.
Custom field mapping requires MailerPress Pro.
Set it up
Install both plugins, then set up each form from its own MailerPress tab.
- Plugins: MailerPress and Contact Form 7, installed and active.
- Where: Contact > Contact Forms, edit a form, then open its MailerPress tab.
- Required: the email field and a list.
