More about OttoKit

OttoKit newsletter automation for MailerPress

OttoKit, an automation platform with a WordPress plugin, connects MailerPress to the other apps in your workflows.

  • 9 triggers: MailerPress events start OttoKit workflows.
  • 15 actions: OttoKit adds, reads and tidies MailerPress contacts, lists and tags.
  • Since 1.1.14: the OttoKit plugin version that added the integration.
  • Community integration: built and maintained by the OttoKit team, not by MailerPress.

Add contacts with their lists and tags

One action creates or updates a contact with everything you need to segment it later.

  • Add contact to list: creates the contact, or updates it when the email already exists.
  • Contact data: first name, last name, subscription status, lists and tags.
  • New lists and tags: created under the name you give if they do not exist yet.
  • Custom fields: filled too since OttoKit 1.1.38.
  • Example: webinar sign-ups from another app land in a “Webinar” list, tagged by session.

Share MailerPress events with your other apps

Nine MailerPress triggers start an OttoKit workflow, so your other apps follow every change in your audience.

  • Contact triggers: New Contact Created, Contact Updated, tag or list added to or removed from a contact.
  • Other triggers: List Created, Tag Created and Campaign Created.
  • Data passed: email, name, subscription status and opt-in source of the new contact.
  • Example: copy every new contact to a Google Sheets row.
  • WordPress hooks: fired by MailerPress (free), such as mailerpress_contact_created.

Look up and tidy your audience

Other OttoKit actions read your MailerPress data or clean it up from any workflow.

  • Lookups: Get contact by email, Get contacts by list, Get contacts by tag.
  • Overviews: Get all lists, Get all tags and Get all segments.
  • Clean-up: remove a tag or a list from a contact, or delete a contact.
  • Lists and tags: create or delete them.
  • Example: a data deletion request in another app deletes the matching MailerPress contact.

Set it up

Install the free OttoKit plugin, connect it to an OttoKit account, and MailerPress is ready for your workflows.

  • Free plugin: OttoKit on WordPress.org, connected to an OttoKit account.
  • Account: a free OttoKit account is available.
  • Cloud service: workflows run on OttoKit’s platform, and limits can depend on your plan.
  • MailerPress Pro: not required, the integration only checks that MailerPress is active.
