Your WordPress SMTP plugin sends your newsletters too
With MailerPress Pro, your newsletters follow the same path as your site emails, through the SMTP plugin you already use.
- WordPress Default provider: hands every MailerPress email to wp_mail(), the standard WordPress sending function.
- Your plugin: for example WP Mail SMTP, FluentSMTP or Gravity SMTP.
- Everything sent: campaigns, automation emails and sign-up confirmations.
- Delivery: through the email service your SMTP plugin is connected to.
Requires MailerPress Pro. Read the WordPress Default guide
One place for delivery settings and logs
Your SMTP plugin stays in charge of sending, so there is nothing to configure twice.
- No credentials: no API key or account to enter in MailerPress.
- Sender: no sender field, and if your plugin forces its own address, that address wins.
- Email log: MailerPress emails appear next to your other site emails, if your plugin keeps a log.
- Headers: Reply-To and one-click unsubscribe headers are passed to wp_mail().
Only useful with an SMTP plugin
WordPress Default only improves delivery when an SMTP plugin handles wp_mail() on your site.
- Not PHP Mail: PHP Mail (free) calls PHP’s mail() directly, and SMTP plugins never see those emails.
- Without a plugin: wp_mail() uses your server’s mail function, with the same deliverability limits.
- Large lists: prefer a direct connection to a sending service for more control over pace and bounces.
Bounces through the service behind your plugin
In the WordPress Default settings, pick the service your SMTP plugin sends through to track bounces.
- Bounce tracking provider: Brevo, Mailgun, Mailjet, Postmark, SendGrid, Amazon SES, Emailit, SMTP2GO or Resend.
- Webhook: add the URL in that service.
- Service card: the same service must also be set up and enabled in MailerPress.
- Verified notifications: Amazon SNS for Amazon SES, or a saved signing key, such as SendGrid’s Verification Key.
Set it up
Make sure your SMTP plugin already works, then start slow and speed up only if needed.
- MailerPress Pro: it adds the WordPress Default provider.
- Working SMTP plugin: it must already send your site’s emails correctly.
- Conservative profile: start with 25 emails every 10 minutes.
- Go faster: only if your plugin uses a transactional service with high limits.
