More about Mailgun

Mailgun for your WordPress newsletter

Send your WordPress newsletter through the Mailgun API, from your own Mailgun sending domain instead of your web host.

  • Everything sent through Mailgun: campaigns, automation emails, sign-up confirmations and test emails.
  • Authenticated: emails are signed for the domain you verified with SPF and DKIM.
  • Stats in MailerPress: opens and clicks are tracked by MailerPress, not read from Mailgun.

Requires MailerPress Pro.

Your data region: US or EU

Your emails go through the Mailgun API that matches the region where your domain is hosted.

  • Region field: choose US or EU in the Mailgun settings of MailerPress.
  • EU domains: a domain created in Mailgun’s EU region keeps sending from the EU.
  • Wrong region: it can cause a “domain not found” error.
  • Test email: shows that error before you send a campaign.

Higher volumes, paced to your plan

MailerPress Pro offers three Mailgun profiles, so you can send faster as your Mailgun plan grows.

  • Balanced (Recommended): 75 emails every 5 minutes, about 900 an hour.
  • Performance (Foundation+ plans): 200 emails every 3 minutes, up to 4,000 an hour.
  • Example: a 10,000-contact newsletter goes out in about two and a half hours on Performance.
  • High Performance (Scale plans): 3,600 emails an hour.
  • Where to set it: MailerPress > Settings > Sending frequency.

Requires MailerPress Pro.

Permanent failures handled for you

Addresses that fail permanently get the Bounced status and drop out of your next campaigns.

  • In MailerPress: turn on Enable bounce tracking.
  • In Mailgun: add the MailerPress URL to the Permanent failure event of your domain.
  • Signing key: with the Mailgun Webhook Signing Key saved, notifications not from Mailgun are rejected.

Requires MailerPress Pro.

Set it up

Connect Mailgun to MailerPress with a Mailgun API key and a verified sending domain.

  • Mailgun account: with a verified sending domain.
  • Mailgun API key: saved in the Mailgun settings of MailerPress.
  • Region: US or EU, the one where your domain was created.

Requires MailerPress Pro. Send your campaigns with Mailgun in MailerPress
