Easy Digital Downloads newsletter signup at checkout
Turn Easy Digital Downloads buyers into newsletter contacts, then send them release notes, updates or offers for your digital products.
- Checkout checkbox: added to your Easy Digital Downloads checkout.
- Order complete: customers who ticked it become MailerPress contacts.
- Contact details: email, first name and last name.

Only buyers who said yes
Only customers who tick the box are added, so your list stays opt-in.
- Placement: in the personal information section, with the email and name fields.
- Unchecked by default: customers who leave it empty are not added to MailerPress.
- Checkout errors: the customer’s choice is kept when the checkout reloads.
- Double opt-in: when on, new contacts stay Pending until they confirm by email.
A record of consent on every order
Each order keeps proof of when and how the customer subscribed.
- Saved on the order: the consent date and the exact checkbox text the customer saw.
- When: as soon as the order is created.
- Wording changes: each order still shows what that customer agreed to.
New buyers sorted into lists and tags
Choose where new buyers land, then follow up with a MailerPress Pro automation.
- “Assign Lists” and “Assign Tags”: for example an “Ebook buyers” list.
- No list selected: MailerPress uses your default list.
- No duplicates: a customer whose email already exists is updated.
- Follow-ups: start an automation when the tag or list is added (no Easy Digital Downloads trigger).
Set it up
Everything is set from the Easy Digital Downloads card in MailerPress.
- MailerPress Pro 2.1.0+: required for this integration.
- Easy Digital Downloads: the plugin must be active.
- Where: MailerPress > Integrations > Third-party extensions, then Configure on the Easy Digital Downloads card.
