A newsletter for your Paid Memberships Pro members
Grow your Paid Memberships Pro newsletter as people join, with a sign-up checkbox at checkout.
- Checkout checkbox: MailerPress adds it to the Paid Memberships Pro checkout.
- Lists and tags: members who tick it become contacts with the ones you choose.
- Self-service: members manage their subscriptions from their account page.
- Welcome emails: an automation can start when members join your lists.

Members subscribe while they join
Members who tick the box at checkout join your lists with the details of their account.
- Checkbox: just before the checkout submit button, unchecked by default, with your Subscribe text label.
- Contact created or updated: with the email, first name and last name of the member’s WordPress account.
- Example: a “Members” list and a “pmpro” tag for member-only news.
- Double opt-in: if it is on, new contacts stay Pending until they confirm.
- Sync check: the member editor shows Synced, with a link to the contact, or Not synced.
Members manage their own subscriptions
Logged-in members join or leave your lists from their account page, without having to contact you.
- Setting: turn on Enable Member Profile tab.
- Where: a Newsletter Preferences section on the account page with the [pmpro_account] shortcode.
- Your lists: choose which lists members see.
- Name fields: decide whether the form asks for first and last name.
Welcome new members automatically
Members who opt in land in the lists you assigned, so an automation can welcome them.
- Contact Subscribed trigger: filtered on your members list.
- List Added trigger: the other way to start the automation.
- What to send: a welcome email or a short onboarding sequence.
- Subscription Status: set it to Subscribed so members who must confirm enter only after confirming.
Set it up
With both plugins active, setup starts from the MailerPress Integrations screen.
- Required: MailerPress Pro and Paid Memberships Pro, both active.
- Where: MailerPress > Integrations > Third-party extensions.
- Button: click Configure on the Paid Memberships Pro card.
