Google (Gmail / Google Workspace)

Send your WordPress newsletter with Gmail or Google Workspace through MailerPress Pro. You connect with Google OAuth, emails leave from your own address, and sending stays under Google’s daily limits.

Google (Gmail / Google Workspace) and MailerPress

More about Google (Gmail / Google Workspace)

Send WordPress newsletters with Gmail

Send your WordPress newsletter with Gmail, through the Gmail API of a Gmail or Google Workspace account instead of your web server.

  • Everything sent through Gmail: campaigns, automation emails, sign-up confirmations and test emails.
  • Google OAuth: you authorize MailerPress without ever typing your Google password.
  • Send only: MailerPress gets the right to send, not to read your mailbox.

Requires MailerPress Pro.

Sending profiles under Google’s daily caps

Two sending profiles spread your emails to match the daily limits Google sets on each account.

  • Google’s caps: about 500 emails a day on free Gmail, 2,000 on Google Workspace.
  • Free Gmail (500/day limit): 20 emails every 10 minutes.
  • Google Workspace (2,000/day limit): 50 emails every 10 minutes.
  • Whole account: Google’s daily cap still applies to everything the account sends.
  • Where to set it: MailerPress > Settings > Sending frequency.

Requires MailerPress Pro.

Replies land in your own inbox

When a subscriber answers your newsletter, the reply arrives in your Gmail or Google Workspace inbox, next to your usual mail.

  • Sender: the address of the connected Google account.
  • Aliases: you can also send from an alias added to that account in Gmail.
  • No separate reply-to: MailerPress does not add one when sending with Gmail.

Best for small lists

Gmail suits a club, an association or a small business writing to a few hundred subscribers.

  • No bounce tracking: it is not available when you send with Gmail.
  • Bounce messages: they land in the connected inbox, and contacts keep their status.
  • Regular newsletters to a larger list: choose a service that handles bounces, such as Brevo, Amazon SES or Mailgun.

Set it up

Connect Gmail with your own OAuth client from Google Cloud, then publish it so access does not expire.

  • OAuth client: created in Google Cloud.
  • Gmail API: enabled in Google Cloud.
  • Publish the OAuth app: in Testing mode, Google revokes access after 7 days.

Requires MailerPress Pro. Send emails with Gmail / Google Workspace
