On a multilingual site, you can translate the texts you enter in the MailerPress settings, such as the sign-up confirmation email, with WPML or Polylang. This requires MailerPress 2.0 or later.

A text appears in WPML or Polylang only once it has been saved. Open the matching MailerPress settings screen and save it once, even if you keep the default text. Do this also for settings saved with an older MailerPress version, so that WPML and Polylang can read them.
Translate MailerPress settings with WPML
- Install and activate WPML and its String Translation add-on (it translates texts that are not posts or pages).
- Go to WPML > String Translation.
- Select the domain of the setting (see the table above), for example
admin_texts_mailerpress_signup_confirmation, or search for the text. - Click the translation link for the language, enter your translation and save.
- Clear your cache if you use a caching plugin.
Translate MailerPress settings with Polylang
- Install and activate Polylang.
- Go to Languages > Strings translations.
- Filter the list to
mailerpress. - Translate the texts, for example the subject and content of the sign-up confirmation email, then save.
Keep the merge tags (placeholders replaced by the contact’s or site’s data) and shortcodes of the original text in your translation, for example [contact:firstName], [site:title] and [activation_link]...[/activation_link] in the confirmation email. Otherwise the translated email loses its personalization or its confirmation link.
Test your translations
- Add a MailerPress sign-up form to a page, and to its translation.
- Sign up with a different email address on each language version (for example, English and French).
- Check that each address receives the confirmation email in the matching language.
