Import Mailjet contacts into MailerPress

Use the Migration Center to import Mailjet contacts into MailerPress, with their contact lists and contact properties. It is a one-time import: later changes in Mailjet are not synced.

Importing from Mailjet requires MailerPress Pro. You need MailerPress and MailerPress Pro 2.1.0 or later.

Before you start

  • Copy your API key and secret key from the API key management page of your Mailjet account.
  • Mailjet is already your sending service in MailerPress? Its saved credentials are reused and unsubscribed contacts are skipped.
  • Back up your database, or test the import on a staging site first.
  • Pause automations that start with the Contact Subscribed trigger if imported contacts should not enter them.
  • Import only contacts who agreed to receive your emails.

Import your contacts

  1. Go to MailerPress > Tools > Migrations.
  2. Select Platforms.
  3. In Import from platform, choose Mailjet.
  4. In Connect Mailjet, paste your key in API key.
  5. Paste your secret key in API secret.
  6. Optional: check Include unsubscribed contacts to also import contacts excluded from campaigns.
  7. Click Save credentials.
  8. Under Data to migrate, keep Lists, Custom fields and Contacts checked.
  9. Click Start migration.
  10. Wait for Migration completed. You can leave the page in the meantime.

If Mailjet is already connected, the Connect Mailjet form does not appear: skip steps 4 to 7.

Cancel stops a running migration. Records already imported stay in MailerPress.

Contact statuses

MailjetMailerPress
Active contactSubscribed
Excluded from campaignsSkipped. Unsubscribed if you checked Include unsubscribed contacts.
  • Only the campaign exclusion is read. Unsubscribes from a single Mailjet list are not taken into account.
  • An existing contact with the same email gets the Mailjet status. An unsubscribed contact can become Subscribed again.
  • No contact is imported as Pending, so no confirmation email is sent.
  • Automations with the Contact Subscribed trigger can start for imported contacts.

After the import

  • Check the processed, skipped and error counts.
  • Open a few contacts and check their status, lists, names and custom field values.
  • Check the field types in your contact fields.
  • Missing values? Complete them with a CSV import.
  • A contact in several lists is counted once per list in the progress.
  • Reactivate the automations you paused.
  • To bring in later Mailjet changes, run the migration again. Contacts are matched by email, without duplicates.

To keep sending your emails through Mailjet, set it up as your sending service: see Send your campaigns with Mailjet in MailerPress and the Mailjet integration page.
