MailerPress Pro can synchronize selected WordPress users to MailerPress contacts. The synchronization runs from WordPress to MailerPress only; changing a contact does not update the WordPress user. The MailerPress > Audience > Synchronisation screen is available in the main plugin, but the free version displays a feature introduction. Running synchronization requires Pro and permission to manage settings.
Create a synchronization rule
1. Open MailerPress > Audience > Synchronisation and select Add synchronization.
2. Enter a Name and select the Roles to sync.
3. Under the contact settings, choose at least one list in Assign to lists. Optionally use Assign tags, then choose Subscribed or Pending confirmation for Contact status.
4. Choose a Sync mode, optionally configure Field mapping, turn on Enabled, and select Save settings.
A rule needs at least one role and one list before you can enable or run it. You can create multiple independent rules.
Choose automatic or manual synchronization
Auto โ sync in real time is the default mode. New user registration is enabled by default. You can also enable synchronization for changes to a userโs email, profile, or role, and for user deletion.
Manual โ only when I run this synchronization disables automatic triggers. In either mode, save the rule first, then select Sync matching users now to run a full synchronization of users with the selected roles. The background progress display shows the runโs status; use Stop synchronization to stop it.
Map WordPress user data
MailerPress first looks for a contact linked to the WordPress user ID, then checks for a matching email address. If neither matches, it creates a contact. Synchronization updates email, first name, and last name. It adds the configured lists and tags without removing existing ones.
Use Field mapping to map WordPress user fields or meta:* user metadata to existing MailerPress custom fields. An empty source value does not overwrite an existing contact value.
Know what happens to existing contacts
Only users with selected roles are processed. Existing contacts whose status is neither Subscribed nor Pending confirmation are skipped. Synchronization does not overwrite an existing contactโs status. If a user leaves a selected role, the contact keeps its lists and tags.
Delete synced contacts when users are deleted is off by default. If enabled, only contacts created by WordPress synchronization are eligible for deletion; another rule associated with the contact can prevent deletion. Deleting a synchronization rule keeps its contacts, lists, and tags. Duplicate creates a disabled copy of the rule.
