Send your campaigns with Mailjet in MailerPress

This feature requires MailerPress Pro.

Send your campaigns through Mailjet and track bounces (emails that canโ€™t be delivered) in MailerPress.

Prepare your Mailjet account

  1. Create a Mailjet account or sign in.
  2. Add and validate your sender domain or address in Mailjet, then add the SPF and DKIM records Mailjet gives you at your domain provider. These DNS records are short entries that prove you own the domain.
  3. In your Mailjet API key management, copy the API key and the secret key. Together, they let MailerPress send through your account: keep them private.

Connect MailerPress to Mailjet

  1. Go to MailerPress > Integrations, Email Service Providers tab.
  2. On the Mailjet card, click Configure.
  3. Paste the API key in Mailjet API Key and the secret key in Mailjet API secret.
  4. Enter a Default sender email address validated in Mailjet and a Default sender name.
  5. Click Save changes. The button stays disabled until the API key and the API secret are filled in.
  6. On the Mailjet card, now under Configured Providers, turn on the Enable toggle, then click Set as primary provider.

Send a test email

  1. On the Mailjet card, open the three-dot Actions menu and click Send test email.
  2. Enter a recipient in Send to and click Send. The test emailโ€™s subject is โ€œThis is a Sending Method Testโ€.

If the test fails, MailerPress shows the Mailjet error, for example:

  • 401: the API key or the API secret is invalid or missing.
  • 403: the API key lacks permissions, or the Mailjet account is suspended.
  • 400: the email parameters are invalid. Check that the sender address is validated in Mailjet.

Set the sending speed

Go to MailerPress > Settings > Sending frequency (or click Adjust sending frequency on the card) and choose a profile that matches your Mailjet plan:

ProfileSettingsEmails per hour
Prudent (Free plan – 6k/month)50 emails every 5 minutes, 10 emails/second600
Balanced (Recommended)75 emails every 5 minutes, 15 emails/second900
Performance (Premium plans)200 emails every 5 minutes, 30 emails/second2,400

The Mailjet free plan allows 6,000 emails per month and 200 per day. The profile only sets the pace: stay within your planโ€™s daily and monthly quotas. See How to change your sending frequency in MailerPress.

Enable bounce tracking

Mailjet reports bounces through a webhook: an address on your site that Mailjet notifies automatically.

  1. Reopen the Mailjet settings in MailerPress and turn on Enable bounce tracking.
  2. Click Copy to copy the Webhook URL:, which looks like https://example.com/wp-json/mailerpress/v1/esp/bounce/mailjet.
  3. In Mailjet, open the event notification (webhook) settings of your account, paste this URL for the Bounce, Blocked and Spam events, and save.

MailerPress marks the contact as bounced for these three events: a bounce, an email blocked by Mailjet, or a spam complaint. Other events, and the empty test notifications Mailjet sends to check the URL, donโ€™t change your contacts.

Mailjet doesnโ€™t sign its event notifications, so leave the Webhook signing secret: field of the bounce tracking panel empty. If you fill it in, MailerPress rejects Mailjet notifications without a matching signature. Without a secret, MailerPress only applies a bounce if it sent an email to that address through Mailjet in the last 30 days.

Keep the Mailjet card enabled: MailerPress refuses bounce notifications from a service that is neither enabled nor primary.

Find bounced contacts

Go to MailerPress > Audience > All Contacts and click the Bounced tab. Bounced contacts no longer receive your campaigns.
