For each campaign you send, MailerPress records who opened it, who clicked a link and who unsubscribed, so you can compare campaigns and plan your next sends.
Campaign statistics are included in MailerPress. The click heatmap, WooCommerce revenue tracking and resending to non-engaged contacts require MailerPress Pro.
Choose what MailerPress tracks
You set tracking for each campaign:
- In the email editor, click Preview & Send.
- In the Details step, find the Tracking section.
- Set Track opens (counts the contacts who open the email) and Track clicks (counts the clicks on the links in your email).
Each setting has three states:
| State | What happens |
|---|---|
| Toggle on (default) | Opens or clicks are counted and linked to each contact. |
| Toggle on with Anonymously (GDPR) checked | Opens or clicks are counted in the totals but not linked to a contact. They donโt appear in the lists of contacts who opened or clicked, and you canโt resend the campaign based on them. |
| Toggle off | Opens or clicks are not tracked for this campaign. With click tracking off, the click heatmap and WooCommerce revenue tracking are off too. |
To check the tracking mode of a campaign, expand it in the campaign list. Its details show On, Anonymously or Off for opens and clicks.
Open the statistics of a campaign
- Go to MailerPress > Campaigns. For each sent campaign, the Details column shows the number of Openers, Clicks and Unsubscribe.
- Click View statistics in this column or in the row actions to open the full report.
Automated campaigns send a new email each time new content is published. To see each send and its statistics, click Sending details in the Details column.
Metrics in the Overview tab
Under Key Performance Indicators, the report shows Recipients, Opens, Clicks and Unsubscribes, each with its percentage of recipients. Engagement Metrics shows the rates:
| Metric | How it is calculated |
|---|---|
| Open Rate | Unique openers divided by the number of recipients. |
| Click Rate | Clicks divided by the number of recipients. A contact who clicks the same link several times counts once for that link. |
| Click-to-Open Rate | Clicks divided by opens: how many readers went on to click. Shown when the campaign has at least one open and one click. |
| Unsubscribe Rate | Unsubscribes from this campaign divided by the number of recipients. |
Bounces (emails that could not be delivered) are not part of the campaign report. When bounce tracking is set up for your sending service, for example with Brevo, a bounced address gets the Bounced status on the contact.
See which contacts opened, clicked or unsubscribed
If you can manage contacts, the report also shows the Opened, Clicked and Unsubscribed tabs at the top, each with its count. They list the contacts with the date of their first open, first click or unsubscription. You can also click the Opens, Clicks or Unsubscribes card to open the matching tab.
See where recipients clicked with the heatmap
The click heatmap requires MailerPress Pro.
When a campaign has clicks, the Overview tab shows an Email click heatmap next to the metrics. It displays your email with red hotspots on the clicked links and the number of clicks on each one, so you see which buttons, images or text links get the most attention. If a clicked link is no longer in the saved email, MailerPress tells you it could not place it on the preview.
Track WooCommerce revenue
Revenue tracking requires MailerPress Pro and WooCommerce.
MailerPress Pro credits a WooCommerce order to a campaign when all these conditions are met:
- click tracking is on for the campaign;
- the recipient clicks a link in the email that leads to a WooCommerce product page;
- the recipient then orders in the same shopping session;
- the billing email address of the order matches a MailerPress contact;
- the order status changes to Completed.
The order total is added to the campaign revenue, minus any refunds on that order. The statistics report then shows a Revenue panel with the Total Revenue. Revenue is also included in the A/B testing metrics.
Resend a campaign to contacts who did not engage
Resending to non-engaged contacts requires MailerPress Pro.
Give a sent classic campaign a second chance with the contacts who ignored it, often with a new subject line.
- In MailerPress > Campaigns, open the row actions of a sent campaign and choose Resend to non-engaged (or click the matching icon in the campaign row).
- Under Audience, choose Did not open or click (default), Did not open or Did not click. A contact who clicked counts as having opened the email, even if the open was not recorded.
- Edit the Subject if needed. It is prefilled with the original subject.
- Click Resend campaign.
MailerPress creates a new campaign named after the original followed by โ- Resendโ and sends it within seconds. It goes only to recipients of the original campaign who are still subscribed and match the selected audience. Contacts already targeted by an earlier resend of the same campaign are excluded, so nobody gets the same resend twice.
Resending only works if MailerPress knows who opened or clicked. The matching tracking must have been on, and not anonymous, for the original campaign: open tracking for Did not open, click tracking for Did not click, both for Did not open or click.
Follow your overall performance
The MailerPress Dashboard sums up your activity with widgets such as Email Performance, Recent Campaigns and Top Performing Campaigns. Click Edit Widgets to choose which ones are displayed.
